Isn’t technology great?

Love the single bulb out as you follow the line of lights to the bright ferry wharf. Looking towards the City.

The world is getting so much more technologically advanced…

Take this post for instance… I’m currently sitting by the side of the Parramatta River watching boats and river cats pass by, whist chatting on MSN, reading my email, and posting to my Live Journal. Sure, some of you would say, “Yeah, but you are probably paying a fortune for the privilege.” but that isn’t actually the case… For an extra $29.95 per month on top of my Mobile account, I can utilise the Three 3g Network allowing me reasonably fast Internet connection which gives me 200Mb of data. 200Mb isn’t much… but for web-browsing, checking emails, and basically keeping in touch with friends it’s all I need. If I wanted to upgrade it to 1Gb, it would cost me an additional $20…. So what? Why am I advertising for Three? I’m just constantly amazed at technology and what it allows me to do… I can sit here outdoors, with water views right in front of me, and access all of these things so easily. Brilliant! Just Brilliant!

Add to that the fact that I can use my mobile phone to take pictures and post them here for all to see, as well as find out my location through GPS, which allows you my readers to find out exactly where I am right now… Not that I’ll be here in 15 minutes. ;) So what else can I do with the technology I have available to me? So so much… With mobiles that are now mini computers, allowing software to be installed which provides each user an almost infinite array of possibilities… Oh my! the possibilities.

Looking towards the south-west as two boats are being taken out of the river. I love the way my van lights illuminate the car on the left.

  1. “Not that I’ll be here in 15 minutes. ;)

Abort the missile strike! ABORT!, Ab…
    oops.

  2. That’s so cool! oh the possibilities! I’ve generally avoided the 3G thing even though my phone has it… not that it’s available in Bendigo… however I’ll be in the big smoke soon, maybe I’ll have to have a dabble then!

  3. — Why am I advertising for Three? —

‘Cos I can stay up late for up to 210 minutes a month, talking for free to other 3 users. And then they can phone me back!

Go take a picture of my grandmother’s old house near your work, and Post that. I’ll swap you something!

  4. I hate to say this… but if it was a house… then I’m afraid it most likely no longer exists. :(

  5. No! No no no!

I have a feeling it’s one of the only houses left in that street. Unless they’ve finally ripped it down, too.

Can we have a look when I come up?
