Large blocks are current priced at $3.49/Lb + GST. So it’s reasonably expensive as it’s quite heavy for its size… I actually spent more than I should have, but I found some really nice pieces. If you want to choose your own pieces though, you have to get there before 3:30pm on a work day, as the warehouse closes around then. I’m tempted to go and prepare a couple of slices tonight, however I know that if I do that before I have worked out exactly what it is I shall be carving out of it, I’ll end up wasting it.
I’m looking forward to working out my first mould. I have so many idea’s… This could be fun…
Hee, I’ve been wondering if they still sell it. I have S&S’s catalogue from about 15 years ago. Guess what! I live just around the corner from them. Guess 2nd! I already have loads of soapstone and really can’t justify buying anymore at this stage but at least you know I won’t buy ‘em out. Looking forward to hearing how the stamping goes.
