Yikes… There’s actually room in my room… Room even to put a coffee table, which is very tempting… The only issue with that is that it gives me another surface that I can cram full of half finished projects and other stuff. If I wasn’t so broke, I would concider going furniture shopping to pick up a Tallboy and maybe even a wardrobe. One of my flatmates gave me a wardrobe… but he’s been known to say “Yeah here have it, sure it’s all yours” before, and then turn around and say “Yeah only as a loan… btw, I need it back now” which is both inconvienent and well.. smacks of being used as temp storage.
The biggest issue with this share house is that it kinda comes across as not a share house… but more of a long term B&B (without the Breakfast supplied). I should probably find a better place, but I hate moving and until I have culled 90% of my stuff, will continue to need a far amount of space even just for storage… Ahh well…
So… Tonight I shall continue cleaning… And may even start on my Cloak for the Weekend.
I should make a new tunic also, or finish off one of my current ones so that it looks nice.
You still looking to get a tunic finished by me? I need at least the sleeve dimensions before I commence ‘broidering braid to sew onto the sleeves. I have ideas, if you can give me some measurements.
Always remember the student methods of furniture creation: Milk crates on their sides stack well as a shelving space, or you can cut holes in the sides of them, stack them upside down, and make cardboard drawers out of beer boxes and fibretape for a rather unique tallboy (yes I have done this, it works well) they also make good bookcases with a plank between each level, very sturdy. Currently I’m using upturned milk crates as chairs, being short on chairs. I made nice cushions for their tops, they’re quite respectable.
And there’s always Ikea. Down here I can’t resort to Ikea: it doesn’t exist.
Indeed… I keep meaning to send that tunic off, along with that linen bits for you… Sorry… Side tracked… you know… the kind of side track that happens when you take a small detour to have coffee with a friend who’s just a couple of suburbs away. And when you get there they are just heading out to a party, and “Oh sure! You should come too!” and the party happens to be further away from the direction your original sidetrack deviated from, but you know they are good friends, and it won’t take too long… So you go… and then the party is great, and you end up staying and partying till the wee hours of the morning, and meet someone cute who takes you back to her place (which is even further away from your original route)… You know… that kind of side track… Just with different events… and more detours both heading out, and while on the way back.
cheapie coffee tables: half a door plus legs on the bottom. ^^
mmmmm.
mmmmm?
BTW… Do you want the measurements or the tunic?
I take it you want the circumference of the sleeves? Were you considering doing the neck line and the hem as well?
Yeah, circumference of the sleeves would be good. I’ll do the neckline too if you want it, but I draw the line at the lower hem. You can decorate that with an inch wide length of scrap fabric sewn a couple of inches above the hem.
As an aside: cute girl huh? Who?
Cheaper still: half a door with milk crates underneath.
eBay. Cheeeaap!
I have two coffee tables here. One not used at all. Other one simply holds up … stuff. Free to approved coffee lovers.
I’d offer to bring one with, but I think Qantas will’ve had more than enough of me, what with the kitchen sink, dead birds and all your feasting gear stuffed in my bag.
I should get some sleep.
but then what will you use for chairs?!
More milk crates of course.
oo, you could do furry covers!!
Indeed… I think Foxy would embroider covers for them though.
Good guess. Not like I don’t ‘broider anything else that stays still too long…
Keep an eye out for Baron Ynys Fawr at Rowany Invest. I got to his hat when he left it at our house a few nights ago… you’ll see it when he’s not wearing the bloody great big coronet…
What you didn’t sew yourself a magical hidey hold on his hat so that you could smuggle yourself to Invest yourself? Bugger!
yes. mmmmm was my initial thought. I wondered what was stream of consciousness fantasy writing slash embellishment slash exaggerated for effect and what was real.
‘Twas completely embellished. the only part that was in fact true was the fact that I got side tracked…
Though any likeness to events or persons in reality is purely coincidence and not to be taken literally.
I’m learning from a pretty good embellisher, so it’s getting to be pretty damn good embellishment.
So the art of LJ embellishment may now take on the dimension of a sporting pursuit!
Nice. Very nice. I wonder how many others will play.
