Calling all period archers in Lochac.
The IKAC scores for Lochac could do with some improvement and I know that Lochac has more Period Archers out there. It would be great to see more and more people choose to shoot period and also shoot the IKAC to elevate Lochac’s rankings.
As such, I shall be providing a prize to the highest scoring period archer in IKAC this season. The prize is a hand crafted pewter drinking vessel which will comemorate the victory. To be in the running you will need to make sure your scores are entered into the Lochac IKAC online scoring system at http://scores-sca.org/.
The season ends in December and I shall forward the prize to the worthy archer once the final scores have been added.
Is this applicable in 2010; is another such competition, conducted to encourage Period Archery entries in the IKAC, from Lochac, being held in 2010?
Sure is, though I must admit I haven’t quite finished Madog’s prize from last year yet.

Has a census been taken (if so, how recently), to find how many target archers are in Lochac, and, how many in each division?
Such a census (depending on how much work would be involved), would be enhanced by showing the numbers for each division, for each Principality/Barony/Canton/Shire, in addition to the.totals for each division, for the Kingdom.
I believe that the results of such a census, could be interesting.
The only census we have at the moment is those that are willing to submit IKAC scores. In the 2009 season there were a total of 44 Archers world-wide willing to submit “period bow” scores to the IKAC, of that number 16 of them were from Lochac. On those numbers we are way ahead of the rest of the Knowne World for Period Archers, however I suspect that there are alot more archers our there that shoot Period but choose to do so more as a means of recreation than actual competition. I like your idea of a census, and have included one on the Lochac Network Archery forums.
